MIna + Hal
Mina + Hal, Hal + Mina… They are in complete and utter love and just the sweetest people. After having a traditional Japanese wedding in Japan over Christmas, Mina and Hall had their Canadian celebration April 4 at Sea Cider Winery. This spring wedding was the perfect way to kick the 2015 wedding season off for me-a lovely couple and an abundance of flowers.
For the flowers, the bride requested the feminine colour palette of blush, peach, apricot, champagnes and white. We brought in all the best flowers of spring, because it was one of the best weekends of the year to be selecting flowers-we had everything we could possible want to choose from. I had picked up some amazing tulips, anenomies and ranunculus from Earth Candy Farm on Saltspring. We used some bridal veil spirea (the dainty white flowers on the long branches). And the beauty of working closely with my wholesaler is that when Mt. Newton Floral brought in buckets of white lilac, I saw how perfect they were for this wedding, scooped it up and we used it everywhere.

The one-and-only Melanie Baird did the bride’s gorgeous makeup, and the incredible Elena of Conscious Hair did the beautiful up ‘do. The stunning dress and veil are from Blush Bridal Boutique.
The day was captured by the talented Victoria photographer Blythe Leslie.
All our love, Mina and Hal. May you have a life together with many more days as joyous as this one.

Denise + Tyler
The colours were our favourites: soft pinks and blush, pale peaches, spring green, creamy whites. Her dress was a the palest shade of blush and was layers and layers of tule.
Denise’s hair was by Elena Roberts of Conscious Hair and her makeup was by Mel Baird. Jenna & Tristan captured the day in photographs for the couple.

Tanya + Ian
A tight timeline can sometimes be exhilarating for us, and this was one of those times. This wedding was pulled together in two weeks (with the busiest floral day of the year, Mother’s Day, the day after the wedding!), but we couldn’t resist this charming bride and her vision. The designs were natural and whimsical-the tables adorned with candles, pewter tea caddies filled with beautiful ferns, and crystal compote dishes overflowing with lily of the valley (one of our favourite looks).
The flowers were shades of pink-from the palest blush for the six flower girl bouquets (above) to the saturated deep pinks of the bride’s bouquet (below).

The bride, who, may we say, was STUNning, said the flowers were the most beautiful she had ever seen—nothing makes us happier than hearing that! Our best wishes to Tanya and Ian.

Erin & Sean May 18th, 2013 English Inn & Resort
Erin is an artist. Can you tell? I mean just look at all these details, they are everywhere. It was easy to follow her lead on this wedding, I was thrilled when I saw her colour palette, deep, rich, black reds. Minty sage green. Creamy whites. What a treat to be able to work on this wedding with all the options at this time of year. Succulents took the centre stage, and we highlighted them with beautiful peonies, roses, lily of the valley to name a few.
The black parrot tulips made the whole look even more sophisticated, and they weren’t even on the original plan, we just happened to get them at the last minute. I have been coveting them for years and never was able to get my hands on them, so this was a real treat!
The tables were designed to include a combination of full arrangements, little silver pots filled with a gorgeous selection of succulents, and some etched glass bottles with white and soft grey blooms and foliage. The perfect compliment to all the details the Erin arranged.
Erin was simply beautiful, in her gorgeous lace dress, she was a so incredibly beautiful and this whole wedding was an amazing way to start the wedding season off with a bang. Thank you Sean and Erin for trusting me with your vision.
