Mystic Beach shoot featured in Pacific Weddings magazine
Yipeeeeee! Finally we can show you something we’ve been itching to share for months. Laura of Tuktu Paper inspired an incredible shoot that Verbena Floral took part in. Set at the magical Mystic Beach, French Kiss Event arranged a photo shoot of a laid back, intimate West Coast wedding, and the editors at Pacific Weddings saw a snap on Instagram and asked to publish it! We just got our copy and are so beyond thrilled to share this project with their readers-and now finally with you! The photographer for this shoot was the incredible, talented Christie Graham of Christie Graham Photography (who kindly came over from Vancouver).
This multi location shoot started with this table set up at the Pacheedaht Campground in Port Renfrew (because there was no way we were hauling all this stuff down the 45 minute hike to Mystic!). Then we drove back to Mystic and all hiked down for 45 mins to get the portraits and surf shots. Then back up to warm up around a fire with dinner. We capped off this long day with an incredible Morrocan Stew that Elena’s husband had made for all of us over a campfire on the beach.
Setting up for this shoot involved a lot of vendors! Laura of Tuktu Paper was the talented woman who created all the printed material like the invitations, the place cards, the “You can’t stop the waves” tambourine and the beer bottle labels below. The beautiful dress is an Anna Campbell dress and it is from The White Peony, in Victoria. Patrick Tier of Citizen Clothing provided all the clothing for the groom. Hair was by Elena of Concious Hair and makeup was by Erin Bradley of Style by Erin Bradley. Cake by Ruth & Dean. And Mexi Pops brought their cart and frozen treats so we could shoot the bride and groom with the pops. Without furth adieu, here are some photos from the “wedding”. How gorgeous are these models?! And what troopers-it was not exactly sunny and warm-it was authentic West Coast: breezy. Isn’t their dinner table so sweet? Vanessa bought the pillow fabric from Liberty of London in the UK and had pillows made. The incredible feather scarf (below) and the chevron print table runner were both pieces bought from Coral & Tusk in New York.
And last but not least, our favourite shot: the Mystic Beach waterfall. Absolutely incredible, Christie Graham. And in true Vancouver Island style, we pulled out the surfboards, which were loaned to us from surfboard manufacturers Anian Boards in Victoria.
Fabulous job to everyone involved. It was such an honour and pleasure to work with you all. What a vision to pull together, and the results are something we will all cherish for years to come. If you’d like to see a little more, a beautiful video was shot by Cassie O’Neil of Cassie O’Neil Videography-it really shows all the details of the shoot: http://vimeo.com/96836664.

Tanya + Ian
A tight timeline can sometimes be exhilarating for us, and this was one of those times. This wedding was pulled together in two weeks (with the busiest floral day of the year, Mother’s Day, the day after the wedding!), but we couldn’t resist this charming bride and her vision. The designs were natural and whimsical-the tables adorned with candles, pewter tea caddies filled with beautiful ferns, and crystal compote dishes overflowing with lily of the valley (one of our favourite looks).
The flowers were shades of pink-from the palest blush for the six flower girl bouquets (above) to the saturated deep pinks of the bride’s bouquet (below).

The bride, who, may we say, was STUNning, said the flowers were the most beautiful she had ever seen—nothing makes us happier than hearing that! Our best wishes to Tanya and Ian.

Frankie & Ryan, Holy Trinity Church and Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse July 12, 2012
Maybe it is because the following weddings palette brings together the best of nature’s colours. Blue like the sky and the ocean, green like the trees and the grass and white like the clouds, whatever the reason this palette re-kindles my love for the spectacular hydrangeas. Frankie and Ryan’s wedding has done just that. What a beautiful day it was, not only was the weather perfect but the hydrangeas were in a word exquisite!
We used them everywhere from the bouquets and hair flowers, to the large arrangements for the church and the centrepieces. The bouquets were a beautiful combination classic whites and greens with Frankie’s bouquet incorporating more beautiful blues and purples
This couple was a breeze to work with, I loved Frankie’s style and quick descsion making, it made this wedding a pleasure to work on.
We used masses of blue, white and green hydrangeas along with hints of vibrant purple agapanthus, and veronica in two large arrangements that flanked the altar in the church. The ceremony was held in the lovely and quaint heritage church, Holy Trinity in North Saanich. This church sits right on the water overlooking the beautiful Patricia Bay.
Watching the bridal party and all of their family and friends gather in the yard of this lovely little church, was a picture right out of the english country side.
The reception got under way under the marquee out at the beautiful Sea Cider, guests were treated to a fantastic spread from Truffles Catering and all was documented by the brilliant photography of Helene Cyr.
Congratulations Frankie & Ryan, it was a fantastic expirience putting this wedding together with you, from start to finish!

Stacey & Jeff May 12th, 2012 University of Victoria
It has been a long cold winter and early spring around these parts, but apparanetly it was all leasing up to today. The most brilliant day of sunshine and gorgeous blue skies. The reason we all love it here so much. A perfect back drop for the spring wedding of Stacey & Jeff at the Interfaith Chapel at The University of Victoria, Finnerty Gardens.
This was a beautiful combination of spring whites and greens, with subtle touches of antique dusty mauve roses. A gorgeous combination of roses, peonies, and hints of flowering mock orange.
It gets better with the bouquets, and heady scented combination of peonies, lilacs, lily of the valley, freesia and more. They were just gorgeous, and the pictures of the whole day and especially of the bride, can’t come fast enough! I have been waiting to work the Kelsey Goodwin and today was the day!
