On May 16, Karley and Timon tied the knot at Villa Marco Polo-this wedding was a masterpiece. Everything about it suited this sweet couple to a tee.

The custom invitations were created by Victoria’s Tuktu Paper.

The intimate wedding ceremony was breathtaking… and tear inducing. The couple’s gorgeous children, including their baby twins (seriously, how did they have the energy to plan such a gorgeous wedding?!), and their family surrounded them in the beautiful gardens.

Bash Specialty created a couple seating lounge areas that fit in beautifully at the elegant venue. The event was planned by Barb from French Kiss Events, photographed by Ryan McDonald Photography, the bride’s hair was done by Elena at Concious Hair and makeup was by Melanie Baird.

Immediately following the big kiss was a cocktail picnic reception with creative snacks, including a mashed potato bar, a pretzel bar catered by Toque Catering.

About 20 people stayed for dinner in the Villa Marco Polo’s exquisite dining room. Just before dinner started, local actors in costume came by and set up the scene for a murder, which the guests had fun solving over the course of the evening.

The colours were elegant, whites, greens and touches of grey, blue and gold, and they tied in with the surroundings of the elegant dining room. Solomon’s seal, beautiful fresh, spring flowers, including columbia, ranunculus, lily of the valley and viburnum—my fave spring flower of all (I just think it makes every arrangement spectacular). And. The. Tree. Peony. Let me tell you about the tree peony… Eidwenn from Cartref Gardens had them (they are virtually impossible to get) and was generous enough to cut some for me. They have the lush-but-refined, elegant look we were pulling together-and they were perfection. Congratulations, Karley and Timon! Thank you for asking us to be a part of creating your perfect day.

Sometimes when I sit down to write a blog post I have a list of different vendors to include in the post with a link to their respective websites, however no need for that this time as the bride Andrea doesn’t have one. Andrea and her Pinterest boards were the driving force behind the million beautiful details for this wedding. What a FANTASTIC wedding to be a part of for the team at Verbena. This was glorious, from the ombre carnation curtain we created to the magnificent bridal bouquet. The day was awash in gorgeous shades of coral, peach, tangerine and pewter. All was pulled together with little sprinkles of gold.

The ceremony took place in the magical gardens of Starling Lane Winery. We hung the curtain under the tree that the bridal party stood under. We then placed little posies of flowers everywhere.

The squeal worthy details and beauty continued on in the dining room of the Fireside Grill, we covered it from top to bottom with shades of the wedding, using roses, roses and more roses along with fragarent stock and honeysuckle vine.

Here is the best part for me….Emmy and Aaron of E/A Photography were the photographers on this wedding. No one I know loves and shoots details more beautifully than these two. To say that I am excited to see what they saw is an understatement. So much so, look carefully at the image below and see who is there….

Oh yeah, did I mention the bride looked AMAZING!!!!!! Look at her in that dress, that beautiful dress.

Andrea and Tim this was beyond my expectations! Thank you from the bottom of my creative heart for asking Verbena to be a part of this beautiful day.

If I had to be working on my birthday, then there could not be a better couple too work for then Kim and Matt, owners of Still Life Boutique. What a beautiful crowd of beautiful people in a beautiful spot surrounded by beautiful flowers and beautiful vintage details, and beautiful wooden accents created by Matt himself.

Gorgeous little place card holders on antique crocheted table runners.

Beautiful antique bottles filled with incredible peonies and soft ladies mantle, and asters on carved cedar planks

Hand carved walnut table numbers surrounded by more vintage loveliness. The fantastic vintage finery was rented from the lovely Josephine at Victoria Vintage Rentals. There is a treasure trove of vintage goodness there and we are so lucky to have her here on the Island.

Beautiful and bountiful peonies and hydrangeas spill out of an old suitcase…

Sweet, sentimental details everywhere and the masterpiece, piece de resistance, the INCREDIBLE cake from the amazingly talented Corrina Ludwig of Passion for Cakes.

And to finish this post some beautiful shots of the bouquets, that were filled with all manner of soft, romantic and fluffy blooms. Peonies, garden roses, sweet peas, and lisianthus. Heaven!

Still Life and Still Love…..
